Katie has been guiding at Black Butte Stables for 4 years. She grew up in Portland, Oregon, and got a degree at Whitman College in Environmental Studies and Politics. Katie spent her college summers guiding rides. Once graduated, she was not ready to give up the horse dream, so she moved to Central Oregon to pursue her passion for horses year-round. She started taking English riding lessons at age 5, and rode her first horse at Black Butte Stables, Zeppelin, at age 7.

Callie has been working for Black Butte Stables since 2017. She was born and raised in Bend, Oregon. Before working for the stables, she worked offshore in the Gulf of Mexico as a commercial diver. Callie has worked intermittently with horses her whole life. She has a strong passion for the 4 legged and enjoys working with the horses at Black Butte Stables year-round.

McKenzie has been working at Black Butte Stables since summer of 2022. She has ridden Western her entire life and did some jumping from ages 3-6. McKenzie starts our colts and young horses for the casual rider, with the goal of helping the horses and humans be on the same page. She says that there is absolutely nothing she loves more than riding deep in the wilderness alone with a horse and her dog, Jane. Her favorite part of the job is watching the young horses grow their confidence, their skill sets, and helping them to develop a partnership with humans. In the off-season, you can find McKenzie leading trail rides in the snow!
